Day 1

Holy hell it has been an interesting day!

We started off by exploring into town to find a supermarket. People drive CRAZYYYY here! I don't know who's in what lane at any time. I think it's a free for all. Lucky for me Shane is doing ALL of the driving.

Made it to the supermarket eventually, and that was an experience. Since I really stink at spanish, trying to figure everything out was a bit interesting. Who knew milk (leche) would be on a shelf (NOT COLD) and coffee filters (definitely nowhere near the coffee) would take about half an hour to find. Somehow we made it through the experience and will hopefully do better next time.

After our shopping/driving adventure we came home, got a nice cold beverage, and headed to the beach. The sand here is amazing and the water is all sorts of bright greens and blues! I LOVE IT! I can definitely do this for a month.

Houston

Well It's been a fun trip so far and we haven't even reached Mexico. We had a 4 hour layover in Houston so my good friend Caitlin who lives out here picked us up for lunch. I am kicking myself for not getting a picture with her. Still have a little over an hour to kill in the airport now, and then we are off.
Will update when we get settled into our condo!

Well today is the day! Our bags are packed. We are ready to go!

I am going to miss my cat like crazy but he is in good hands while we are gone so we are saying our goodbyes. Now off to Texas for a four hour layover, and then Cancun! 

Booked

Well today was a LONG day! We basically got everything we needed to get done before the trip.

Safety First and Additional Travel Plans

I just registered our trip with the U.S. Department of State. I figure since we will be out of the country we should let them know where and for how long. Safety First!

Next Up:
We are adding on a little addition to our travel plans. It turns out we will save a lot of money by stopping in Florida on the way home, instead of trying to make it back out there later this year. It will be a short trip to say hi to my family and meet a new addition (one of my best friends babies), and then we will fly back to Tucson from there. I am so thrilled to have all these opportunities present themselves! We will be doing all of our flight purchases in the next few days so keep posted to get exact dates!

Retired

Well  today is the day!

Last day of work before our new adventure really kicks off!

Let my 2(ish) month retirement begin!!

Exciting News

Today I want to share some exciting news! I have word that a few of our friends may be stopping by to visit us in Cancun!!! Now this is all up in the air right now but I would be so happy to share this grand adventure with some friends! If they are reading this I just want to shout out "DO IT" to them real fast! haha Thanks!

On other topics, tomorrow Shane can put in for his 401k cash so we will be happy to have that all out of the way! These next few weeks are gonna fly by. 23 days and counting.

Dear Friends,

        Sorry for being MIA for so long. This last week has been over booked with eventful activities. 

Negative events: Car breaking down and lack of sleep due to busy work schedule.

Positive events: Reuniting with a great friend who moved back to town, Putting my 2 WEEKS NOTICE into work, Paying off the rest of our "cozy studio condo" and Car getting fixed. 

I am so ready to have more time on my hands and more sleep through the night.
